Juno analysis
Setting and Mise En Scene-
This is a screenshot of the main characters bedroom in Juno;
it is shown as being quite stereotypical when it comes to the colours because
they are mostly purples, pinks and reds which are seen as a typical girly
colour. The setting is clearly a girls bedroom but it all looks a bit chaotic from
the images scattered all over the wall and the bed not being made, which could
be seen as showing the girl as a countertype because girls are usually the ones
who keep themselves and bedroom tidy.
This image
shows a close up of the main character kissing a boy with her middle finger to
the camera. This would be shown as being stereotypical because in most teenage
girl movies, you see a girl kissing a boy and it is seen as being the typical
teenage move. It could show her as a countertype as she is sticking her middle
finger up to the camera showing that she is carless to the fact that she is
kissing him, this would be counter typical because girls don’t usually have this
type of attitude and don’t it is usually boys who show this type of body
language and swearing.
Characters-
This
shows a shot of the two main characters, Juno and Bleeker. The girl is shwon as
being a countertype because most girls in teenage films have a face full of make
up with their hair all done up, they are usually girls who wear short mini
skirts with big hoop earrings and tight pink tops. However, Juno is wearing
abig baggy jumper with a coat over the top with long baggy jeans.
From
the image, we can see that Juno is pregnant and Bleeker has his hand on her
stomach which could indicate that he is the father. This seems to show him as
abit of a countertype too because he is dressed in sports wear which shows that
he is involved in his education and is very sporty, so you wouldn’t think that
he is the type of person to get a girl pregnant.
